About Me

My friends call me D, D Wall, and only when I'm causing trouble am I called Derrick!  I am a proud graduate of The University of Virginia ('02) and have spent my whole life in this great state, currently residing in Charlottesville.

My daily grind is pharmaceutical research, but my expressive outlet is photography.  I enjoy a great adventure whether it be hiking, road-tripping, or traveling, and never fear getting lost as long as I have my camera strapped around my neck.

When I began exploring the art of photography, it was just an interest.  Over the past few years, it has become a passion and now I feel like I'm missing out on moments if I'm not documenting them. While you probably won't find much about me out there regardless of how much you dig, I find joy in sharing my work and love of candid photography with others and look forward to seeing where it leads me.

When I'm not behind a camera lens or up past midnight editing photos with a cup of coffee in hand, I enjoy painting, working out, visiting museums, and cooking.  I'm also a connoisseur of chocolate chip cookies, and I'm always up for a taste-test if you think there's an establishment that can beat MarieBette's homemade ones.

Whether you want to connect to discuss all things photography, travel, or chocolate chip, I look forward to hearing from you!

When I have a camera in my hand, I know no fear.
